Palafittes Guide – Unesco World Heritage to listen to

On June 27 2011 the pile dwellings of the alpine region were added to the Unesco World Heritage List. Texetera produced the audio guide that allows you to discover these archaeological sites. The "Palafittes Guide" is an iPhone App that tells you, right there on the lake shores, what treasures lie slumbering beneath your feet or at the bottom of the lake.

The map shows you the locations of the many sites from the time of the pile dwellers (1). Attached to every site is an audio file lasting about 3 minutes in which we tell you all about the particular location (2). The App also contains a comprehensive collection of interesting background material about the pile dwellers for you to read (3).

The "Palafittes Guide" was compiled by leading Swiss archaeologists in conjunction with science journalists. The App is free of charge and can be downloaded from the App Store. Requirements: iPhone with iOS 3.1.3 or higher.
