Great audio guides have great forerunners. The tragic love between Venus and Adonis has been dealt with before - by Ovid, Shakespeare and Canova, to name but a few. And now by Texetera as well: in the audio guide for the Museum of Art and HIstory in Geneva.

Young Adonis is setting off for the hunt from which he will never return. His beloved, Venus the goddess of love, already knows of the tragedy which is to befall him. The tenderness with which Venus is touching Adonis' face gives us an insight into her great love and her terrible helplessness. For Adonis’ fate cannot be averted.

Treasures of archaeology, art and art history are all found under one roof - and of course we keeping coming up against love (not all of which ends in tragedy).
