Chillon Castle, Montreux

The mediaeval Chillon castle has come right up to date with an audio guide from Texetera and a redesigned permanent exhibition that aims to entertain as well as inform. Since March 2008 visitors from all over the world have been able to enjoy a 60-minute tour full of surprises.

Down in the vaulted cellars visitors hear how the prisoner Bonivard dragged out a miserable existence. And up at the highest point of the tour, they share the feeling of pride of the Duke of Savoy as he stood there too, long ago, and surveyed his realm. The audio guide is available on iPod nano and iPod classic in eight language versions.
